Jam4DanX Final Report
January 13-14, 2017
The Celtic Fox Irish Pub
Topeka, KS

Great music, bad weather on hand for Jam4DanX;
Scholarship applications due March 10

Jam4DanX, although shortened by inclement weather, showcased some mighty fine musicians Friday and Saturday, Jan. 13 and 14. Many familiar faces graced the stage, but there were also newcomers that were a big hit, including a flamenco guitarist, a hip-hop youth group, and a country band that had the dance floor packed.

Cindy Frost had the winning raffle ticket for the J. Edison custom guitar and Barry Hazlewood won an acoustic guitar as the door prize. Both are from Topeka.

The scholarship dates have also been determined. All applications are due by March 10, the winners will be announced by March 27 and guitar instructors will have their checks by April 14.

Due to the smaller crowd and decreased revenues, scholarship dollars available are considerably less than in past years. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants MUST follow the application process to perfection. The strongest consideration will be given to

  • Guitar/bass students;
  • Need; and
  • Instructor input as to the dedication, potential of the applicant.

The Trustees regret having to limit the awards this year.

For the application process, go to:

The Trustees thank all the musicians and volunteers who contributed to our efforts. Unfortunately, the weather negatively affected both of our shows this year. As a result, discussions will be held as to planning future events.
