The first Jam4Dan was held January 20, 2008. Proceeds were given to help defray family expenses. Click here to see the pictures from that event.
Jam4Dan II was held January 18, 2009 at The Celtic Fox (118 SW 8th Ave) in Topeka. Topeka's top bands and musicians were featured at the day-long benefit that honored long-time Topeka guitar player and teacher Dan Falley. Falley died in an auto accident Jan. 6, 2008. All proceeds collected went towards music scholarships for guitar and bass students 18 and under taking lessons in Shawnee County (Topeka, KS). There was no cover charge however; participants and patrons alike were asked to donate to the cause. There were T-shirts and CDs for sale commemorating the event, prizes up for auction, and a drawing for 2 very special items: a TreeHouse snare drum from Supersonic Music, and a custom Telecaster - style guitar made especially for the event by J. Edison Custom Guitars. Raffle tickets for the drawing were $5 each, 3 for $10 or 7 for $20 and could be purchased at Steam Music (3300 SW Topeka Blve), Live Music Institute (17th & Fairlawn) and Celtic Fox (108 SW 8th). To add a special touch to the festivities, The Celtic Fox was having drink and food specials all day long.
